1. Avoid Exfoliating Products (48 hours before)
 • Refrain from using retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, scrubs, or strong exfoliants before your facial. Over-exfoliation can increase skin sensitivity, making the treatment less comfortable.
2. Stay Hydrated
 • Drink plenty of water before your appointment to keep your skin hydrated. Well-hydrated skin responds better to treatments and absorbs active ingredients more effectively.
3. Limit Sun Exposure & Tanning (3-5 days before)
 • Avoid prolonged sun exposure, sunbeds, or self-tanning products before your facial, as sunburned or sensitized skin can react negatively to the treatment.
4. Avoid Waxing, Threading, or Hair Removal on the Face (48 hours before)
 • Any form of facial hair removal can make the skin more sensitive. If you plan to wax or thread, do so at least 2-3 days prior to your facial.
5. Skip Heavy Makeup on the Day of Your Facial
 • Arriving with bare skin is ideal, as it allows the treatment to begin immediately. However, if you're wearing makeup, it will be gently removed during the cleansing process.
6. Avoid Botox, Fillers, or Advanced Treatments (2 weeks before or after)
 • If you’ve recently had injectables, laser, or microneedling treatments, wait at least two weeks before getting a facial to allow your skin to fully heal.
7. Inform Your Therapist About Your Skin Concerns & Medications

Sun Protection is Key:
 • Your skin is more sensitive to UV exposure after a facial. Apply SPF 30+ daily, even if it’s cloudy.

 • Severe or cystic acne – If the skin is inflamed with deep breakouts, a different treatment may be recommended.
 • Allergic reactions or active dermatitis – If you have severe eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea flare-ups, your skin may be too sensitive for treatment.
 • Recent facial surgery or cosmetic procedures – Allow at least 2 weeks after injectables (Botox, fillers) and longer for laser, chemical peels, or microneedling.
